Former Team Ohio players Matt Borland, Shane Price and Justin Jenkins were part of a successful season at Wittenberg University.  Coached by Team Ohio’s Steve Dawson, all three players are junior starters and have played a large role in the resurgence of the program. 

All three players received All-Conference and All-Mideast awards and won State Cup titles with Team Ohio at the U17, U18 and U19 levels. 

• Matt Borland was named an All-American and is one of only two players at a Division III school in Ohio to receive this honor.  He was also named the NCAC Offensive Player of the Year.  Borland contributed eight goals and five assists.
  
• Shane Price had 14 goals and two assists.
• Justin Jenkins was named defensive player of the year his freshman year.

Wittenberg finished with a 12-4-3 overall record.

Two former Team Ohio players got the thrill of both winning the Big Ten Championship and advancing all the way to the NCAA National Championship.  Defender Doug Verhoff and goalkeeper Byron Neal are on the team.

In the Big Ten Championship, Ohio State won the match in a pk shootout.  The winning goal was scored by Doug Verhoff.  He also played a key role in the National Championship Game.  Byron Neal is tagged to be the starting keeper in 2008. 

In addition to the overall success of the team, both players were named Academic All Big Ten.  Verhoff was also recognized as CoSIDA Academic All-District and was named to the College Cup All Tournament Team.
